Solar installation process

Requirements and site review

Start with recent electricity bills or consumption, the property locality, roof rights, connection details and any backup requirement. A commercial enquiry also needs facility operating hours and electrical coordination contacts.

Agree survey availability, travel and access. The site review should identify shade, usable roof, structure responsibilities, cable routes, protection, equipment space and operating restrictions.

Design and quotation

Compare the proposed capacity and equipment with the intended use. Specify generation, backup power and stored energy separately. Ask who is responsible for structural/electrical engineering, procurement and approvals.

The itemised quotation should cover equipment, mounting, balance-of-system work, labour, transport, taxes, metering/statutory charges and exclusions. Keep possible residential assistance separate from gross cost.

Approval, installation and commissioning

Follow the current utility and scheme process applicable to the connection before proceeding with steps that require permission. Agree the customer's and vendor's tasks; an application does not guarantee approval.

Confirm site readiness and installation timing. The handover scope should identify electrical/protection tests, monitoring access, equipment records, utility documents and how issues are reported.

Support after handover

Keep product warranties and installation support distinct. Prime Green Energies states five years of free labour and technician visits; equipment parts and replacements are separate.

Paid AMC needs its own agreed scope, frequency, exclusions and charges. Use the service enquiry to describe the system and requested work rather than assuming every visit is covered.
