Solar maintenance and paid AMC
Define the system and inspection scope
Record the site, system age, installed equipment, monitoring arrangement and access permissions. Identify whether the request is preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning or a particular repair.
Ask which visible and electrical checks are included and who is authorised to perform them. This checklist is for agreeing work, not a homeowner's electrical repair procedure.
Agree frequency, charges and exclusions
State visit frequency, travel, cleaning responsibility, report format and any remote monitoring tasks. Identify labour, consumables, replacement parts, call-out charges and roof/equipment access requirements.
Record how unexpected faults, manufacturer warranty claims and excluded work will be quoted. A contract should not silently convert a labour commitment into free replacement equipment.
Keep a useful service record
Keep the agreed scope, visit reports, observed faults, work performed and equipment changes. Compare generation only with suitable reference periods and operating conditions; a short low-output period alone does not establish a defect.
Review the contract when the system or building changes. Confirm the actual support channel and response arrangements rather than assuming an advertised universal SLA.
